Ace’ second wife

If you’ve been following my blogs. You know that Ace’ big dream is to have a car. That is aside from having our own house and farm. Talk about boys and their toys! Then he realized getting a car is next to impossible except if we win the lottery, and winning the lottery is the most impossible thing to happen because we don’t play bet. For months, he’s been convincing me to get a road bike to shorten his travel time in going to and from work. Imagine commuting everyday for more or less one hour! I would be bored to death, if I were on his shoes. But then I sternly said NO everytime he tries to convince me that we get a road bike. I am so paranoid of accidents. Three of my HS batchmates and some acquaintances died of motorcycle accident. You would understand why I am not amenable on getting a road bike. Still, Ace didn’t give up in convincing me to get one. He lay down all advantages of having a motorcycle and of course, convenience in going to and from work is the most important. He must be so good in convincing me that I finally said YES. So after more than a week since we canvass for a road bike, he got his Honda Wave Dash last Saturday.

He must be the happiest when he finally drove home his motor bike. He is now using his new toy in going to work and his travel time was cut from one hour to fifteen minutes! Last night, he was talking about the maintenance tips he got from other road bike users in the workplace and he was enumerating each one like giving the road bike a shower (that includes, applying shampoo and then wax afterwards) in short, washing…then buffing. All of a sudden I blurted out, “I know what I should title my post about your motorcycle…Ace’ second wife!”LOL

So now neither the plan on getting a car and asking for auto insurance quote from insurance companies are included in our priorities for this year. So we’ll focus more on making our future little home as homey as we can. I already have a visual picture of our little abode’s interior, only, I need to jot it down for I might forget it. You see, ideas pop up any minute so I need a pen and paper to write it down then do the laundry list later on what should and what should not be included.

To date, Ace’ second wife doesn’t have a name. Can you suggest a good name for Ace’ Honda Wave Dash?

Seven straight hours

This is crazy! I think I have the craziest work and sleep schedule lately. I work, sleep, work, nap, chores, rest, work, sleep. Oh my….my body clock is in total disaster! It’s rare that I get a straight 5 hours of sleep and I know that’s not good for my health. What should I do? I’m usually off at around past 2AM or the latest is around 4 then wakes up before Ace goes to work past 6AM. Can I not sleep in until I complete the 7 hours required for my body to recuperate? I’d feel guilty if I don’t see him go out of the door so while he is preparing for work, I am wishing he will do it in lightning speed so I could immediately go back to bed. But as I am about to sleep back, my body is totally awake so I spend an hour or two sulkily clicking in FB, Flickr, checking my mails, reading blogger friends’ updates, etc…until it’s about noon time and I only have an hour or two for a nap. It’s really hard having a fulltime job and a handful of blogs to update.

Yesterday, I received an email from a former colleague. I was intrigued and so I read it all the way (which is unusual of me because I don’t read long emails especially if it talks about others…if she’ll email me about her life, the kids and work, then I will heartily read it.LOL). Anyway, back to the email. I think I heard about it somewhere and I was intrigued. It’s about the death of the SAP CEO in India due to cardiac arrest leaving his wife and young kids (I’m sure he has life insurance that his family could claim so they won’t be at a total loss. At least they have something to continue their lives without their father). The author lays down his hypothesis about the cause of the cardiac arrest. Ranjan Das have an active, healthy lifestyle. He’s a marathoner at that and plays other sports. But he was sleep deprived that his body didn’t have the chance to recuperate from his day-to-day activities. The author explains further and said it is necessary to have a straight 7 hours of sleep at night. Guilty! I only have 4-5 hours then a few hours during daytime.

I really wish my schedule will be back to normal (which I doubt if it would really happen) or I’d be able to sleep 7 straight hours daily.

Officially mine

I admit, I am a religious lurker in Faye’s flickr©. Everytime I open my flickr, I can’t help but go to her photostream and check what’s new. She’s posting her kalakals (items for sale) in her stream and that explains why I am there E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. Anyway, I’ve posted about the apple of my eyes last month but was so discreet in saying that I bought it. Now that it’s on the way to the country, maybe it’s the right time to say I can already smell the apple of my eyes! Thanks to Sheriff for making this dream come true.

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to get a bag when I first saw Faye’s items but didn’t have the courage to ask for the price because I know it is pricey and I am still thinking if it’s worth every penny or not. I opened this up to Ace and he was so kind to say I can get whatever I want (for the record, I don’t need to beg to get Ace’ approval be it with small or big things) so there I go, viewing the items numerous times before I made a decision. The choleric in me is saying I need one that is functional – which means I can put the DSLR, and other personal loots in there. If you personally know me, you would know that I cannot live with a small bag, much more without a bag so my first choices were the totes. My friends are even saying I am carrying my house in my bag!LOL

I like this lunch tote a lot but my color choice isn’t available. I want the brown one.

so here comes this Coach Heritage Tote, I know that it’s what I wanted. I am almost settled with this one. But, I have to consider the camera. Then I need something that I can use not just for malling and other informal events but also in formal events (as if I am attending such!LOL).

After a lot of thinking and with Faye’s convincing power, I was settled to get this Coach Heritage Satchel because it serves my purpose of getting a bag – for the camera, for malling, can be Sunday’s bag, can be used in a party or even wedding, nice for travelling too. Oh well, the totes are my first love but just for this time, I need multi-purpose, multi-function bag because I don’t know if I can afford another COACH bag after this.

So now it’s official. I bought that satchel the day I posted it here last month and maybe in a week or two, I can finally lay down my hands on that precious bag!LOL. I even told a friend “irampa ko parati sa mall ang bag ko”. Though it’s still not with me, two friends – Paula and Ate Eunice are already in line to “borrow” it.LOL. Wanna be next in line?LOL

Anyway, enough about my bag. Let’s get back to work and continue reading about Mesothelioma cancer. All I know is the cause so might as well read further to be aware of such kind of cancer. It’s always good to know something (aside from shopping!LOL) so we can share some inputs in case conversation about it arise.

First Sunday of the year

Photobucket

As much as I want to share the latest weekend photos, it was so uneventful last weekend. Hence here’s the first Sunday (I know Sunday is supposed to be the start of the week but we sometimes consider it as weekend because there’s no work on that day and weekend for me is – no work days.)

First Sunday of the year was celebrated with a fellowship meal then recognition and promotion of the kids in their Sunday School Classes afterwards. We capped the event with a group picture. Many have already left or else hence we all fit in the camera’s lens.LOL. With a 50mm attached in the DSLR (because we’re limiting our use of the crappy kit lens especially indoors), you need to go far to get a group picture like this.

Thanks to Sassy Mom for hosting Pixel Bug Weekend.

Binge then diet

Isn’t it stupid? After binge eating and drinking during the holidays, now searching for effective weight loss drink! Hah! But it’s not a joke, I know. For now I am not one of them but who knows I need it soon so there, www.weightlossdrink.org to my bookmarks so I can easily find it later. It’s a great resource for reviews on weight loss supplements to be sure that I’ll be getting the right one for me (again, should I need it soon).
