Smartbro is making me crazy again! I have read an email last night about complaints of other smarbro users. I thought I am not affected because I can still open websites without hassle. But this morning, I was so pissed. I can only open a website thru google. I have to search google first and click on the result. But it only worked with this site and my photo blog. I cannot open my Life’s Lessons and other sites. After posting my entry in Weekend Snapshot, my website won’t load again. It’s getting in my nerves as I need to double time to finish my assignments.

Since I could only open my yahoomail, I sticked to it and decided to clean up my inbox as I have more than a thousand unread mails. I went thru it and deleted everything from spammers and those website notifications. Other not-so-important emails from former colleagues were also deleted except for the signage layout I sent to one of the print-ads company in the city. That makes me think if the signage is now up or the management are still undecided. It took them almost a year to decide on the layout and months to decide who will do the signage. When the layout is finally done, it took them months again to talk about the structure….the style of post, etc. and when it’s finally done, budget is short because the ads company have increased prices. The culprit of the delay, no other but the plant manager. If only he was firm in his decision, the signage will be up after a few deliberation. I think I need to email Mama Juliet and ask how is the signage. If it’s not done yet, I would suggest they’ll go for digital signage and not stick on the old-fashioned one. It’s a lot convenient for them as if the plant manager will change his mind and wanted something again, they don’t need to have another signage done. This is really good for the plant manager they have now as he changes his mind from time to time (more often than females do). Hence, good luck to the people who will work on it.

Yey! August 25 is declared a regular non-working holiday in lieu of August 24 as National Heroes Day which fall on a Sunday. Ace will have no work so we can stay overnight in a resort. Looking for a resort is not easy though and it made me pre-occupied of searching the net for a nice resort but with a little bit of privacy. I am searching the net for reviews and rates and had a list of my choices. But little by little the long list became shorter and shorter. The first thing that I am considering is the cottage rate, then the facilities and the place itself - the beach and the scenery. If only we could afford the rates of first class resorts, I wouldn’t have a headache choosing where to go. But since budget is limited, it gave me a headache of choosing our destination. I am used in budgetting. Budgetting the company’s employee relations activities in my previous job and managed to conduct such successfully despite of limited budget. My resourcefulness helped me in planning such activities but with mine and Ace’ upcoming outing, it’s kinda hard. 

Speaking of budgetting, I was reminded of my experience in doing my department’s fiscal budget before and doesn’t only gave me a headache but HEADACHES. Though we are using a budgeting software, checking and rechecking the details is so tedious that like other department heads, I usually spend days to finish it. That software is not complete has so many limitations compared to Prophix Budgetting that I have stumbled upon in the net. I think the latter is fay way better than what my previous employer used because of many features such as the workflow and scenario management to name a few and if they’ll ask of my opinion, I would suggest they’ll get Prophix Budgetting software for their convenience.

Another million dollar-worth victory for Manny Pacquiao. He won the match vs. David Diaz yesterday that made all Filipinos proud of him for the nth time. Seems it is so easy for him to earn million $$$. Just winning a boxing match, BIG amount og MOOLAH is being added to his bank account. Can he be considered as one of the richest in the country? Hmmm….that would make him even richer if he invest his money. He already acquired farm lots but I don’t think it’s enough. It will make him even richer if he’ll invest in  commercial real estate as it is one of the successful business ventures nowadays. Real estate is not depreciating though so it is one good venture that will surely bring nth times fold the investment. Anyway, that if, I was Manny.

I and Ace we’ve been to business….different kinds of businesses, from direct selling to multi level marketing but seems we aren’t born to excel in business. We have the passion but we don’t have the skills! Now I was thinking how one of my high school batchmates who is an engineer by profession get into a franchise opportunity and now successfully runs 4 branches of a fastfood chain. I couldn’t believe Alan would be that successful in business because he doesn’t show passion in it during high school days much more in college considering that he went into teaching after passing the board exam. The teaching engineer now becomes a succesful businessman. Isn’t that great? In our case, we’ll still yet to see in what aspect of business we would hopefully success.

It was years back when we first ventured in business. I and Ace started with a US company manufacturing high-end supplements that is really effective because they produce with the highest quality after numerous research conducted by many of their researchers. We signed up for the business because Ace is using one of their products and it really has an effect on him. I also like their anti-oxidant. Compared to other supplements we have tried, the Lifepak and Tegreen are the best so far. Engaging in this business taught me and opened my eyes to the opportunities outside of the rat race. But with this kind of business of direct selling and MLM or the so-called networking, it’s hard to keep it as it will eventually fail unless the products are really good as it will keep the company alive. I have heard of so many companies emerging with the concept of MLM be it consumer products or not. Many have been deceived of the good marketing and compensation plan. In fairness, one can make money out of it at first but without assurance that the company will last. They emerge in the market so fast and also fade from the public eye so fast.
