Playing with light and water

It’s been a while since I played with our toy (our Canon 400D) so I considered playing it with water and light. I was challenged to try it since I saw a photo in flickr. I love taking photos with slow shutter for I am a fan of angel hair effect of the water. Hence this is my first time to try taking a photo of flowing water with a flash. Quite interesting!

Wish our faucet is one of the Toto sink faucets so it’s more presentable (well, at least for me because I want everything to look nice and presentable. Thanks to my late mother for that trait.). If this is our own home, then I would have asked Ace to install Toto faucets and Toto toilets instead of those cheapo ones. Hmmm…then I’ll wait for that time when we have full control over our place.

Maintenance

Am I that busy that I wasn’t able to follow my cleaning schedule of our a/c unit’s filter? It’s supposed to be every month and the last time I cleaned it was the other month. I’m supposed to take it off last month and when I checked the filter, dust particles aren’t that thick yet so I put it back.*lol* I should find time to clean it next week when things will slow down in my end. The filter needs monthly cleaning to prevent from premature wearing that would result to replacement. I got curious how much a filter would cost so I checked with YourFilters.com that sells various kinds including furnace, air, spa, and humidifier filters. Hmm….kinda pricey so I’d better maintain our a/c’s filter so we won’t be replacing it soon. Now that we have a turbo hand vacuum cleaner and blower, I guess I will be able to clean the whole unit, not just the filter. I have started cleaning the desktop’s CPU the other day so my next target is the a/c.

More comfortable

This year’s goal: making our comfort zone more comfortable. Not yet done with my (or our) wishlist that includes mostly of household stuffs such as contemporary furniture for the dining area, kitchen and bedroom stuffs. The list is actually long and I can’t keep myself from adding items on it. Guess I’d better do laundry list later and rank the items according to importance. Importance to me means convenience that comes with style. Thanks goodness I have a melancholic husband who has a good taste of comfort and style hence he agrees to everything that I wanted for the house. This means going to the kitchenwares section is not a ME thing and not like having a zombie following me scouting every lane in the place. Ace even has some things in mind that he wanted to buy for the kitchen and he is slowly buying it one by one. He got me pepper mill and salt shaker, the beautiful oil and vinegar pourer, and knife storage block. Next on his list is hot plate for zizzling dishes, condiments dispenser, ice scream scoop, and a lot more!

Oh well, I am almost lost. So back to the wishlist, I’d better finish it ASAP.

Just an update

What I got from Ace during the holidays? Not really fancy things but he got a sofa set from his bonus! Yay! Thanks B for that purchase. I know for sure he has plans for his bonus and part of it is the apple of my eyes but making our home homey is the priority so we got a sofa set without second thoughts. What I got for myself? Nothing. I already shopped before our Manila getaway so I had to pass. For this year’s plan of rewarding myself includes getting myself either a watch or a set of custom-made earrings with either pearl or diamonds. After all, loose diamonds aren’t that expensive. I think we could get one for less than a thousand so a piece or two for each earring wouldn’t cost me that much. Ok, dream on!

Gloomy days

For days, it’s been gloomy with scattered rainshowers (do I sound like a weather forecaster?LOL). I loathe this kind of weather especially that I cannot just snuggle under the sheets for the rest of the day. I have to keep going because work needs my time and pending tasks are almost drowning me. Ace, on the other hand is determined to go to work despite of the weather that’s been tempting him to stay at home and sleep.

I should be thankful for the cold weather because we could opt not to use the a/c at night. So that’s a couple of kilowatt/hr less in our electricity consumption. We actually tried it the other night. But we end up restless because it’s too cold with the windows open and it’s too hot when we close it. Hence, Ace decided to use the a/c last night though it’s already cold outside. At least we could regulate the coldness that we want by adjusting the temperature up so we won’t be shivering despite of the micro fiber blanket that we have that serves like a heated blanket. Unlike the comforters, the microfiber blanket doesn’t absorb cold so we remain comfy even if the room is chilly.
