Walking rug

Whew! Post marathon early in the morning! I wasn’t able to work on it last night so I am making up for my absence. Need to do as much as I can because of this…

and this…

lacoste bags 015

A few more weeks and I’ll get my hands on those loots.

Photos are grabbed from Faye’s flickr® but not everybody could see her stream now so if you wanna reward yourself from working hard, check out Faye’s blog. Shopping again? My Coach bag is late birthday gift, the DKNY watch is a late Holiday gift and the Lacoste beach bag is a late Valentine gift.hahaha. Is that enough justification?

Since we’re done with shopping for our clothes late last year, it’s accessories this time. Of course I don’t wanna go out and look like a person from the cave – without an eye for fashion like wearing floral capri and stipes top or checkered bermuda shorts and stripes top (both in dark colors that doesn’t complement with each other) with printed bag in bold colors. Ewww! Where did the basic in dressing up that is taught in Home Economics during 5th or 6th grade go? Regardless if we don’t have lots of money, even if we don’t have insurances like disability insurance and the like, as long as I and Ace does not look like a WALKING RUG (imagine the rug made of scrap cloth in different colors), we’re fine. It’s looking good and feeling good that matters regardless if it’s branded or brand-less (though I prefer those with brands now because of its quality and it is not overly mass produced).

Safe and sound

Despite of the handful of tasks that I should finish yesterday, we still went to my sister’s place late afternoon and arrived home around 10PM…safe and sound. Thanks God for the safe drive. I am sure Ace would complain I am not an easy passenger because I kept on looking at the odometer and when I feel we’re going fast and the odometer registers we’re at around 40kph, I reprimand him to slow down. I am not used at riding road bike in the city where there’s a lot of wreckless and undisciplined drivers so I am just nervous. The entire trip, I kept on uttering a prayer to keep us safe.LOL. Maybe if we drive more often I will learn to relax.

When we arrived there, my sister’s hand painted personalized gifts such as pillows and scrolls she’s making are all over their living area. Her items will be sold in Crafts Corner in Gaisano Mall and that explains why my laptop sleeve isn’t done yet. I was planning to take a photo of the pillows and decorative scrolls while I was holding Eman and as soon as my hands are free, I forgot to take out the camera. I’ll take photos next time or maybe later because we’re planning to go there so we could take a bath. We don’t have water here since last night (when we arrived) until 4PM today that I was so pissed because water district isn’t efficient (as always) in disseminating the information to the affected concessionaires. They posted the announcement in their website and maybe had their public information officer guested in the local morning show where not everyone with TV were able to watch. They should have public service ads running during primetime when everybody’s hooked in front of the TV. I still have lots to do today but I might push it aside so we could go to my sister’s place and have a refreshing bath. We don’t have water hence we cannot take a bath and cook.

Binge then diet

Isn’t it stupid? After binge eating and drinking during the holidays, now searching for effective weight loss drink! Hah! But it’s not a joke, I know. For now I am not one of them but who knows I need it soon so there, www.weightlossdrink.org to my bookmarks so I can easily find it later. It’s a great resource for reviews on weight loss supplements to be sure that I’ll be getting the right one for me (again, should I need it soon).

Big plan for 2010

Late last year, we are planning to save for a used car starting this month since we cannot afford a brand new one. So we have made concrete plan on where to get the money for the savings….that is, from my blogging earnings! It would take years, though to make that plan realized but I already have the list of things needed for the used car to be up and running including the car insurance. Of course, we don’t wanna be like my cousin who bought a second hand car and met an accident that totally wrecked the car not long after he got it. So whether we’d get a car soon or not, we need to get as many auto insurance quotes as we could so we can compare and decide which is the best among the auto insurance companies. By the time we have a car, we already know what insurance company to consider.

Playing with a clamp

My late maternal grandfather (Tatang) used to be a carpenter (aside from being a farmer after the world war) and I remember him when I saw this C-clamp among the numerous kinds of clamps in one industrial supply site. Feels like I am back to my childhood days when, together with my cousins, we used to play with the clamp that’s installed in a platform attached to the wall of my uncle’s house. We put something and start to rotate the handle until the thing in between the clamp is tightly pressed. Then we loosen it again. Tighten…loosen…tighten….loosen. That’s how we used to play with Tatang’s clamp. He also have another improvised clamp he’s using in making one part of a “kariton” (cart) but I can’t recall if it’s used to fix the wheel or whatever part of the cart. It’s only now that I knew that the thing we were playing with years ago is a CLAMP. I learned something today. :-)
