Berks

More than two years ago, I quit my day job. But not seeing my “berks” (close friends) didn’t stop us from communicating with each other thru email, text messages or even a phone call. I don’t know how the four of us clicked together for we are from different departments. They have their own cliques before I joined URC and months after working with many unhappy, overbearing people, I woke up one day realizing that I gained 3 loyal and true friends…oh, 4 actually, including my dependable Nurse Assistant!

Standing against all odds is my flight in a one-man department in the plant. I am a fighter, I can even dare to disagree and question the plant manager and other managers but the pressure working with unhappy, critical, and hypocrite people is too much that my berks served as my absorber. I am too thankful that they’ve been supportive of all the HR initiatives without too much fuss.

Anyway, one year after my resignation, I got a call from one of my “berks”. She came in choppy at first (obviously they need a cell phone signal booster inside the building and I remember discussing about it with one of the representatives of Digitel before I resigned) but when I told her we will meet for a buffet dinner, she heard me right clearly!LOL. That is one of the favorite bonding time during my URC days…E-A-T-I-N-G.

That same evening, we met. We had dinner and endless catching up with each other.

Then we decided to visit People’s Park which is two blocks away from where we had dinner

Hmmm….excuse the uniform pants. That’s what we call “many forms”.LOL. Mama Juliet is in her new prescribed office uniform while Ate Elvie and Mama Nancy are in their operations uniform. I can’t recall who among the two are wearing the correct pants that time.

Now it’s been more than a year since I have seen them all. It’s high time once again to meet-up and update each other with plant happenings and with each other’s personal lives. Can’t wait to see my “berks” again!
