Forget about the dining set

Update: I was really serious about finding where to get discounted Corelle dinnerwares so I asked Mr. G. He directed me to a blog of a die-hard fan of such dinnerwares, cookwares and bakewares and have found that so many are also looking for discounted items. Then a fellow reader of that blog posted this….“CORELLE, PYREX, VISIONS and CORNINGWARE INVENTORY SALE up to 70% OFF on selected items! April 26 – May 17, 2009 (11am – 10pm) at KITCHEN WORLD, Level 3, EASTWOOD MALL, EASTWOOD CITY. Convenient and ample parking at the mall basement. Hurry and get your most loved and desired home and kitchen brands at low, low prices. Per DTI NCR permit#A3-0283, series of 2009.” How I wish we’re around Metro Manila as I would not miss going to Eastwood. Really, I know the way to Eastwood and nothing could really stop me from going. I am sure Ace would tag along as he likes shopping for kitchen stuffs.

Payday’s coming and I’ve checked my list of the things that we need in the house. I was asking Ace’ opinion if we should get a dining set this month but seems he isn’t ready for that. Instead of answering me “yes” or “no”, he reminded me of the plan to buy additional Noritake dinner plates (because we only have 3) and additional set of flatwares. So, it’s a way of saying the dining set will take the back seat.

Now I am torn between getting the Noritake (which is obviously breakable and heavy) or Corelle (our dream dinnerwares) so I checked Corelle’s online store and was amazed that a 16-piece set is only $39 while if we buy it here, the price is almost doubled. Then another alternative is Tupperware. It costs almost the same with Corelle (I suppose) but I still have to ask Ace if he wants it. For now, I have to check with my former Tupperware manager (yes, I am a dealer when I was still working) if my dealership is still valid and check with Raffles (Corelle’s distributor) how much is the dealer’s price. If I could save a great amount from being a dealer, then I would just apply for dealership to avail of the special discount. However, if it is still too expensive here (after the dealer’s discount is applied), then I might as well buy it online and have it shipped to my friend in US or Canada so they will just ship it here to me. Let’s see which way to go now as Ace seemed can’t wait to have those dinnerwares.

I would love to get a new set of Corelle dishes… Joe and I have been married for almost 15 years and we’re STILL using the mis-matched used dishes that we got from varius sources when we first got married. *lol* … Maybe for my birthday next year.
