Thieves around the neighborhood
We were out the whole day last Sunday and we went home late. Che2x noticed that one of her tops she left hanging in the clothesline beside the house was gone. It’s the blouse she bought for PhP600 from the money Carol gave her and used it only once. She must be pissed at that. Who the heck stole that dress? Among the clothes she hanged, the said yellow Folded and Hung blouse is in the farthest end from the fence. The thief must have got inside the yard and get it including the hanger. Che2x didn’t transferred the dogs near the clothesline because she’s so confident nobody would dare to steal. But to her dismay, her beloved blouse is gone. Then I was reminded of my missing board shorts I hanged in the said area months back. At first I didn’t mind it. I just thought it’s misplaced. But with Che2x’s experience, it must have been stolen together with my favorite pedal. Who is the thief around here? Che2x’s 1st suspect is the teenager who kept on going here to ask for coconut but I don’t allow them to climb the tree. Everytime I said “NO” to her, she would not leave immediately. Instead, she would gaze at every corner of the yard. Hence, I branded her as mentally retardate as she seemed to be. Che2x told me she saw my lost beloved umbrella being used by that girl. The said umbrella was put to dry outside when after an hour or so, it was lost. Based on what she saw, she suspected the same girl must have stolen her blouse.
She went to the neighborhood store to ask for some facts about the girl. But the store owner said the guys living near our place are the thieves here in our place and that’s a proven fact. Hence, everybody is careful with those guys if they see them roaming around as they are spotting a thing they wanted to steal. They usually steal personal items such as clothes, flip flops, wallet, etc. Hmmm….they must have also stole my board shorts! What the h***. Everybody whom Che2x spoken to that night says the same thing. Even their cousin confirmed about the siblings having an “itchy hands” because they are stealing even their close friends’ personal belongings. How much more those that were in the neighborhood. Carol also mentioned that our neighbor’s daughter told her about their househelp (the suspected siblings’ mother) stealing groceries from them. Now, all fingers are pointing to them so we must be careful and not to trust those people. We wanted to get the daughter to help around here and Ace have already talked to her but I changed my mind. I would rather not have a househelp than not having peace of mind because somebody has access to our belongings which they can get anytime they wanted especially if we’re not around.
Last week, those guys came to our mind. I and Ace are talking about them having no regular job or source of income and yet they seemed to be happy-go-lucky. Their mother is working as a househelp and I don’t believe her income could sustain all their daily needs. They have tapped their power source from us and Ace wanted to remove it. When they asked to connect their electricity source from here, I really don’t agree with it because (1) if Davao Light will discover that somebody is getting their power from us, we will be fined. And who will pay the charges? Besides, it’s against Davao Light’s policy. Why allow illegal tapping?; (2) our electrical wirings are not all working properly. Our lights are plugged in the source for appliances. We might get overloaded if we allow them and we don’t have control over what appliances they will use in their place. They told me it’s only their lamps but I bet they are not telling the truth because I hear their TV and they even have karaoke time once in a while. But since this is not my place, I cannot decide. PILs said “yes”, so be it.
This time, I don’t trust all of them. My instinct said I should not trust them or make any connection with them. I trust my instincts more because it has never failed me ever since. I didn’t caught them on the act of stealing our clothes but I just caught one of the guys stealing coconut. It’s a lighter case but the thought is, it’s still STEALING. If they can steal small things, they could also steal valuables that they could make money out of it.
Anyway, I’ve said a lot. I need to be off by now because the laundry is waiting for me. I should look for a local version of Chicago personal injury lawyers first as I need it for my assignment but seems we don’t have like that around here.

Hi Kerslyn…
Oh my..that sucks. You’re right…that’s probably how they survive. In other words, that’s their jobs….stealing. Hay….
Anyway, visiting you here today. Hopefully wala ng nawawala ulit.
